Our ColourMagic! cyan (blue), magenta, (red) yellow and black sublimation cartridges are designed specifically for the HP 4500 & HP 4550 full color laser printer, to produce great looking color on gold and silver sublimation metal. No other color laser printer can be used with
ColourMagic!.
These superior cartridges also make possible a wide gamut of vibrant color possibilities, from the unusual colors of the 2x10 desk name plate below, to the brooding drama of the tigress on the right, to the bright colors of many of our other sample pictures.
Inkjet sublimation is great on white but can't match laser on gold.

You want to remember that ColourMagic! colors are powerful enough to opaque the background color of even gold brass. It accomplishes this by laying down a heavy layer of color. This ability produces almost too much color when sublimating "whites," like fabrics, plastics, etc.
We can teach you techniques to successfully use ColourMagic! on whites (more about that later in the tour) but usually suggest inkjet sublimation for those substrates. We supply the highly regarded and reliable ArTainium inks for inkjet sublimation.
Superior Sublimation Requires Great Toner and Cartridges
Our expert technicians carefully construct and test our cartridges, to ensure maximum yield and top performance.
Every new toner dye lot is tested for consistency and color balance. Cartridges are then carefully loaded with 180 grams of the finest dye sublimation toner currently available on the market.
Each cartridge is then sealed in a light and dust-proof foil bag and then placed in a special inner carton, supported by shock absorbing foam supports. The carton is then shrink-wrapped and placed in a heavy-duty box, for shipment.
What the above facts means for you is that we have pride and confidence in our toner cartridges. If you ever have a problem with one, we will fix it, replace it, or give you a cheerful refund.

The Price vs. the Cost of ColourMagic! laser cartridges
To produce full color laser transfers, the HP 4500 needs four (CMYK) ColourMagic! sublimation cartridges. Each cartridge is loaded with 180 grams of the finest sublimation toner. The total price of each cartridge is $299. The total price for four cartridges is $1,196. However, as you gasp for air, let's check out the actual cost.
Remember what we said earlier. On average, a full set of ColourMagic! sublimation cartridges produce 4,000 to 6,000 8x10 color transfers. Divide the price by even the lower number of prints. This produces a transfer cost of about 30 cents, and the transfer is printed on 2 cent a page laser paper. Neither inkjet nor the new "polymer" laser toners are anywhere near that inexpensive and they don't reproduce that well on gold metal.
